These pieces intend to rise to an eminently theological space (hence the choice of gold, associated since Plotinus to the “One” and, consequently, the divinity) women who, in life, served as muses -in the sense of a passive object- in order to revalue their voices, which they didn’t have the opportunity to manifest. On this matter, there’s a recurring recovery of the myth of the Caryatids, easily transportable to these days. Moreover, the use of alien works (by the conventional male gaze) tries to act against the visual overstimulation to which we are submitted, though they’ve been reinterpreted through the photography and editing of a female subject.
